SCARRING

Scarring occurs when the dermal layer of skin has been damaged and then heals. Collagen production is increased to help mend the damage and heal the wound. The collagen eventually breaks down and the scar becomes less visible. If layers below the dermis are also damaged e.g fat or muscle, the scar can become pitted, and this is typical of acne scarring.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

Microneedling and skin resurfacing  can help the appearance of these scars by stimulating fresh, new collagen to effectively ‘fill’ them in.
